INTO THE GREY: LIVE

This is the live entertainment section of my “Into The Grey” project, in which I have been developing the visual world for a concept record. This portion of the project is dedicated to creating immersive experiences for fans based on the environment and branding development that has been established in the first section of the project.

2D STAGE SET DEVELOPMENT

THUMBNAIL SKETCHES

Using the scenic illustration for the world layout from the first section of this project, I started organizing elements of the cityscape to explore different layouts specifically for the stage set for an arena tour. A big priority was to offer multiple levels for the performers to move around the set and give them multiple pathways to engage with their environment, allowing them to utilize the entire set to choreograph an evolving story throughout the show. In the colored stage elevations, I mapped out how these elements would be broken up into sections and positioned in the stage plan to create a sense of depth using forced perspective.

COLORED STAGE SET ELEVATIONS

3D STAGE SET DEVELOPMENT

After developing the scale elevations and plans, I moved to Autodesk Fusion to create a digital 3D model of the overall set, along with a callout of the most intricate set piece. Using Unreal Engine, I experimented with the lighting design to use as a reference for the illustrated concept art.
