THE PROPERTY MUSEUM

The Property Museum is the interior extension of my dark fantasy interpretation of the record Intellectual Property by the band Waterparks. This is a concept album that deals with the concept of religious guilt and overcoming the unrealistic expectations that it demands. It is inspired by a combination of the band’s stage set from this album cycle’s tour, along with one of the music videos and a walkthrough pop-up event that they held in Los Angeles upon its release. In my adaptation, however, this gallery is featured in one of the main halls of The Property Palace. This is where the proprietor, or arguably the prisoner, of the palace, known as Knight, leaves physical manifestations of his fears, guilt, and shame. By putting these on display, he might understand the root of this guilt and hopefully take control over it.
